Year
after year, pharmaceutical companies make a killing selling pills,
convince people that this is the only way to make them happy. But the truth is that simple activities can help improve your mood and feel better about ourselves and the world around us.
We all receive every day, apparently caught on autopilot. You get up, go to work, come home, take the kids to soccer, make dinner, do homework, and be ready to start tomorrow everything. I know I was stuck in a rut, feeling that I'm not going anywhere, doing nothing, sometimes even feel insignificant.
To break this cycle, I had to intervene. Gradually, I began to do something different. These four activities here have helped improve my mood significantly.
Start an exercise routine. Whether it's walking, yoga or other low-impact, no vigorous activity, exercise is good for us everywhere, helping the mind and body. Exercise is a great way to deal with stress and can also help to release endorphins and serotonin, a natural mood enhancers produced by the brain.
Start a garden. This was the first year we started a garden and it was a revelation to me. I never realized the feeling of accomplishment when you can choose your own peas, beans, tomatoes and whatever you decide to grow. It's relaxing just to work in the garden, get my hands dirty and feel a special bond with nature when it tends to him. Also compost, which makes me feel like I'm doing something positive for the environment.
Try meditation. Meditation is a good way to know what is really going on inside. It was not until I took the time and learn meditation that I realized how useful it was. Even ten minutes a day can have a significant effect on those who practice it. But it takes practice.
Start a hobby. My passion was music, but every passion is a welcome break from all the rest. We all have to take the time in something we like. Find activities that you enjoy doing for no other reason than to enjoy and you will always have something to look forward.
The biggest secret I've found to be happy is to do what you want to do. No matter what others think, never be happy to try to live according to their rules. Try one, two or all of these suggestions for discovering what will help you understand how to be happy.
Is there something you do to help get out of a bad mood? Please share! I'm always looking for new ideas!
