Get Happy! 5 Easy Tips to Living Happier Each Day

Life moves fast but we have to take the time and make an effort in finding more joy in our lives each day. These 5 simple tips can help you do that. Trust me, they are simple and can make a significant difference in making YOURSELF happy.

Tip 1: SLOW DOWN
Yes, that's right slow down. Each day take time for yourself and do something that you WANT. It can be an hour, a half hour or 15 minutes but find that time for you. Take that time and do something you enjoy, something that will help you decompress from the world or something that just gives you some peace. It can be as simple as taking a walk or listening to music. It can be anything that makes you feel good from mediating to napping. Whatever it is that allows you to be alone and do something you enjoy during your day, do it! The rest of the world will be FINE while you take some time for you.

Tip 2: LIMIT THE SOCIAL MEDIA
As wonderful as all this new technology is, sometimes it can become overwhelming. Try and limit your intake. Shut the TV off for a while, take a break from your email and don't worry about who is tweeting to you. I'm not saying ignore all of these things all day but I am saying at some point during the day it's okay to take a break from it.

Tip 3: BE GRATEFUL
Gratitude is very powerful. The more grateful you are the more you will find to be grateful about. Each day think about what you are grateful for in your life. This can be anything from the people in your life to the ice cream you had after lunch. Make this a conscious part of each day.

Tip 4: INSPIRE YOURSELF
Whatever that means to you, do it! If music inspires you, then listen to your favorite songs. If books inspire you, read your favorite passages. Every single day we should inspire and motivate ourselves. For me, it's quotes from inspirational people that help motivate me and bring me joy. For you, it may be something else but whatever that is try and find it.

Tip 5: LAUGH
Yes laugh! Laughter is good for the soul. Seek out things that make you laugh. It can be a funny show or a person that makes you laugh. Again, whatever that takes for you, laughing will be sure to bring you more happiness.
