Coronavirus: Prime Minister Boris Johnson is positive

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus and is isolating himself on Downing Street.

He said he had experienced mild symptoms such as temperature and coughing in the past 24 hours, but would continue to lead the government.

England's health minister Matt Hancock said he also tested positive, while England's medical director, Professor Chris Whitty, showed symptoms.

Johnson, 55, said in a video on his Twitter account: "I work from home and I am isolated and it is the right thing to do.

"But don't doubt that thanks to the magic of modern technology, I can continue to communicate with my entire senior team to lead the national fight against the corona virus."
